Forget the possible connection to other couple his father was David.

Difficult to say with such a common name. What registration area have you checked?

No fathers name given on marriage cert for David Davies, could he be illegitimate?

The 4 sub sections of the parish itself can be viewed on the Kain/Oliver parish map

Clase - Always in Swansea RD
Penderry - Always in Swansea RD
Mawr
In Swansea RD to 1875
Then in Pontardawe RD to 1934
Then in West Glamorgan RD

Rhyndwyclydach
In Swansea RD to 1875
Then in Pontardawe RD to 1934
Then in West Glamorgan RD

There are a number in Swansea reg district, 1857 +/-1 but only one with no mmn

David Davies, 16, Brook-terrace, Gwauncae-gurwen, colliery timberman, was represented by Messrs Cuthbertson and Powell, and his deficiency was set down at £156 17s 8d. Debtor stated that his failure was due to large family, ill-health, of wife and children, and lossof work years ago. The debts were in respect; -of goods supplied by tradesmen, which he, knew nothing of until after his wife left him. Debtor admitted having spent & good deal to his spare time in public-houses. The examination was closed.

I have searched The Cardiff Times 17th October 1908 on newspapers.library.wales but I can't find the article.
