1911 has them married 34 years 13 children born, 11 children still living. David married but Mary not with family possibly away visiting? Address 16 Brook Terrace

Daughter Mary Ann has deaf on 1891/1901/1911 so likely correct family. States born Clydach on Tawe

Looks likely 1877 marriage?

This is a good possible for 1881 for family. Right area for Mary Ann birth with info from 1911. Margaret age is out I think it should be 1. They seem to young to have a child age 7 as indexed.

1881
Piece   5349, Folio   29, Page number   57
Rhyndwyclydach - reg district Pontardawe
David Davies   23   Head
Mary Davies 21   Wife
Margaret Davies 7   Daughter

https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/GLA/Llangyfelach/Clydach

Which could tie in with the 1877 marriage given same reg district

1921 free index looks likely they are still in Brook Terrace as free address search

I do believe this is the correct family. I have checked the GRO and all children came up as born in Pontardawe with the mothers maiden name as Williams apart from Byddig, maybe when recording the birth it was recorded with a different spelling. Maggie was listed on my grans wedding cert as a witness.

Just need to find the correct wedding certificate to get the fathers names now

Name is mistranscibed

DAVIES, BYDDYD    mmn   WILLIAMS
GRO Reference: 1897  D Quarter in PONTARDAWE  Volume 11A  Page 881

Given the info on 1911 couple had been married 34 years, so would say the 1877 one given in Pontardawe is a good call.  But up to you.

Added: the 1911 census was taken on  2 April 1911. The 1877 marriage was in the March Qtr so would be 34 years also correct reg district. A very good possible

Just to add this looks like the other couple named on March Q 1877 marriage index

Marriages Mar Q 1877
Davies    David        Pontardawe    11a   630
Evans    Elizabeth        Pontardawe    11a   630
Williams    Eliezer        Pontardawe    11a   630
WILLIAMS    Mary        Pontardawe    11a   630

1881
Eleazor Williams   26   Head
Elizabeth Williams 27   Wife
Mary H. (Anna) Williams 3   Daughter
Sarah A. Williams 1   Daughter
Both daughters registered Neath mmn Evans

3 trees have them emigrating to America in 1884. Marriage cert on tree gives address for both as Clydach on 10 March 1877.

So David Davies married Mary Williams possibly same date.
