Charles T Smith died in Wiltshire in 1930. The family were still resident at the Prince of Wales in Kintbury. He goes off the electoral registers there after 1930

It's a very long time ago. How does that tie in with the recollection of the funeral?  :-\

Unfortunately that wouldn't work as the funeral was in 1971.

Hi there
What about Dick and Alice and the old lady in the bed, does that work? Do you know roughly when the visit would have been?
Elizabeth Annie Smith may have died in 1955, she's not on the electorals in Kintbury after then.
Richard and "Alys" may have gone walkabout for a period, but they are back listed in Newbury Street in 1956.

Could "uncle" Charlie have been cousin Charlie? Older brother of Richard G B Smith
SMITH, CHARLES  EDWARD
Mother's Maiden Surname: SWAINE

In 1939 he seems to be a postman, living in Kintbury, born 4 Dec 1903

Did he die in Reading in 1972? :-\  Birth year is one out
June 1972 Reading 6a 346
