Prince of Wales Volunteers (South lancashire) WW1 .

Hello everyone ."Are there any Military enthusiasts out there?". I would like to know more about the Prince Of Wales Volunteers in WW1. My G G Uncle George was in this regiment and Died in Belgium in 1917, a long way from home in Wallasey. Thanks for any support here .

As you will have gathered, you would need to know what battalion(s) he was in to trace his movements. Each battalion kept a war diary which may help to clarify details of the action in which he was fatally wounded or killed.

If you give us his name and regimental number we can do some ferreting.

Hello again Shaun. Sorry still have not had chance to read your article . Until then here is some info about George . Private George Parry's Regimental no was 50432. So 2nd Battalion i think. Many thanks again for all your help and time . I am looking forward to reading the article . Best wishes.

Liverpool Echo, 20 October 1917 page 4;  he joined up in February 1917 and previously worked at Vernons Mills.

Various death notices in the Echo 16-18 October 1917: he died at a casualty clearing station from wounds received in action.
