Regiments of the Canadian Army, Sussex 1944
« on: Thursday 03 August 23 13:43 BST (UK) »
Hi

I don't know if this is the correct place to ask but I'm trying to find out which particular regiments of the Canadian Army did their training near to Newick and Cuckfield in Sussex around April 1944. I know that the regiment that I'm looking for then went on to be involved in the D-Day Landings on Juno beach.

Any help, would be much appreciated.

Thank you that gives me a bit of a starting point.

I'm trying to find which regiment my husband's potential grandfather may have been attached to during WW2. We have very little go on so its just trying to piece a few bits of the puzzle together to see whether it leads anywhere.

Not sure if this is of any help but my father was stationed in Sussex during WW2, believe at least part of the time in Chichester and I know he met my mother on Beachy Head when he was on patrol.  He belonged to the Canadian Black Watch, while he himself was not part of the landings on Juno Beach, it looks like there were Black Watch soldiers who landed that day.
