Something I forgot to check was images of marriages and I have found that for Percy and Eva on Ancestry.

1st August 1927 at Owston, All Saints.
Percy Hyde, 26, Miner of Carcroft, son of John Hyde (Descd.) Carter.
Eva Milner, 20, Clerk of High Street, Carcroft, daughter of Walter Milner, Deputy.
Witnesses: Walter Milner and  E E Milner.

Eva in 1911: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XW2M-WWZ

Trees on Ancestry have Walter Milner married Elizabeth Eliza Cox on 4th June 1900 in Chorlton upon Medlock, Lancashire.
Image also available on Ancestry. Tres have nothing on Eva's marriage or the wrong husband.

Re getting certificates from local offices, rather than GRO, they can sometimes be hand-written transcriptions, rather than photo copies.

Eva Hyde, born 10th October 1906, died Q1 1974 in Bradford District.
Percy Hyde, born 1st January 1901, died Q4 1969 in Warfdale District.

Things get more bizarre.

I tried to find the birth of William John Hill, who was two years old on the 1911 census, born in Dalton Brook.

I couldn't find anyone, so tried William John with a mother named Elston. This time I came up with a William John Davies.

He was baptised privately in Maltby, five miles away, on 25th October 1910 to Evan Davies and, would you believe, Florence Elizabeth.

I couldn't find a marriage between Evan Davies and Florence Hyde but, in Q1 1908, he married Florence E Whatmough.

Although there is no marriage to John Hyde or Hill, she did marry again.

The fact that she was married three years ago on the 1911 census is correct, but she either moved on to someone else or her husband and surname are incorrect.

I can't find anything about them after 1911, except for Percy.

I think I have found out what happened to Florence, have married again in 1915.

I can't see the full details of the 1921 Census but in Adwick Le Street there is a family:-

George Willis Heppenstall born 1866 in Sheffield
Florence Heppenstall born 1873 in Grantham
Percy Heppenstall born 1901 in Ashton under Lyne (i.e. Hyde)
William Heppenstall born in 1909 in Dalton Brook (i.e. Davies)

Florence E Davies married George Willis Heppenstall in Q4 1915 in Doncaster District

Florence Elizabeth Heppenstall, age 50, was buried on 28th June 1924 in Owston, All Saints. Her abode was Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Pleased to have been of help, although the earlier posts by Wivenhoe and Trish were also of great help.

There must be something about the Ashton area. My great-great grandmother lived there, married three times in seven years, and was with someone prior to the first one.
