Looking for Mary Ann Walters (b.1843) marriage or death
« on: Friday 04 August 23 14:15 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I'd like someone to have a look to try and establish what happened to Mary Ann Walters, the sister of an ancestor of mine who seems to disappear from the records. Mary Ann was born in Hull in 1843 and can be seen in Stafford in 1851. She was the daughter of William and Sarah Hopkins, and her siblings include William (1846-1914), Elizabeth (1847-1852), John Henry (1850-1861), Robert (1852-1901), Thomas Augustine (1854-1905) and Winifred (1857-1904). The family was Catholic, so Catholic marriages might be a good place to start. I'd like to see if she did indeed marry and hopefully to find a death record.

Thanks a lot,

FG

Have you found the rest of her family in 1861 and checked for a death for her?

In case you don't have this, William Walters the father died 13 May 1864 per army pension records. His pension at that time was probably being paid from Derby (looks like there was a wholesale transfer of pensions, including his, from Lichfield to Derby in 1860).

Probably this death:
