William Carter 1829
« on: Sunday 06 August 23 09:39 BST (UK) »
William Carter was born in Histon 1829 to John and Hannah Carter.

In 1841, 1851 and 1861 he was recorded living in Histon .... after that nothing.

Can anyone see what happened to him?

I appreciate there are quite a few William Carter's born 1828-30 in Cambs. One to consider/dismiss is a William Carter married Emma Bosscawen 7th Feb 1864. Both are of full age, William does not record a father.

1871.

Son William J(Jonas) Carter when he marries in 1892 records father as William-deceased.

1881
Piece   118
Folio   103
Page number   38

Emma daughter is really Florence Emma born 1872

By 1891 Emma snr is a widow

Piece   80
Folio   50
Household Members (Name)   Age   Relationship
Emma Carter
49   Head
William Carter
21   Son
Lilly Carter   13   Daughter

Trouble is no record of Histon, age a year or so out on census and no father recorded at marriage.

John

added, do not believe details on an Anc Tree re William Jonas Carter re his parents.

Just about to post that one John.  Yes birthplace just Cambridgeshire in 1871/1881 but a possibility.

So there should be a death 1881-1891.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos
