re Samuel Reeves abt 1860/1870 Preston Hill farm, Pirton, Hertfordshire

I am wondering if anyone can help/guide me.
i have just found information to say that Samuel Reeves aged about 11 in 1870 was assulted by a George Wright, Samuel was a farm boy and his parents lived in nearby farm cottages. I have tried looking for court cases, newpaper articles etc to try and clarify if this is one of the Samuel Reeves in my family tree. ( it does not help as I have several in various generations of the Reeves family) Can any one point me in the right direction. thank you

The article doesn't mention Samuel's age, just referring to him as one of George Wright's labouring boys.

Looks like this Samuel had mother's maiden name Roff / Roft

Image of Thomas and Jane's marriage record is on FindMyPast if you have access. Her surname is given as Roft, but neither Jane or Mary Roft (one of the witnesses) could sign their name, so we don't know how they spelt it.
