Frank Coleman born 26th Dec 1901 at Atherstone

Hi  All

I am looking for the parents of Frank Coleman born 26th Dec 1901 in Atherstone, I cant find him in the 1911 Census but in 1939 he is living with his wife Gladys (nee Hough). Family tradition his is that his father was also called Frank. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you can't find him in 1911 - how do you know he was b Atherstone?  Have you dismissed the 1911 entry b Polesworth?

Birth on freebmd in the Atherstone RD - have you not checked it out?

Look up his birth on freebmd then use GRO online to check for his mmn. 

Use that info & freebmd to look for his parents marriage

You can also look for him on the 1921 census or buy a copy of his marriage cert to check his fathers name

The other Frank was born in August and baptised in October according to all the records. Could you please tell me how i can look up the GRO Online please.

So how do you know he was b Atherstone if you can't find him in 1911?  Have you found him in 1921 to confirm his birthplace?

1921 isn't much help - nephew, aged 19, born Polesworth - with family named Tomes.

AND - Polesworth does come under the Atherstone RD.

Same as 1911 but I suspect the surname is Jones as it matches the mmn on the 1901 birth on freebmd which David has dismissed

I wonder if there is any connection to Frank and Florrie Coleman that appear in the same page in 1939, assuming it is the Bedworth entry.

BUT Tomes is a fairly well-used surname in the Atherstone RD.  AND the hand-writing on 1921 census is VERY clear.
