Help finding Martha & Joseph W. Hodgetts

Hi from AUS!

I am trying to find any useful tips/hints about the best place to find any information regarding my great great grandparents Martha Stringer and Joseph? William? Hodgetts.

Bit of background, their daughter Elise Elizabeth Hodgetts was born in Eckington around Dec 1892 according to baptism records. My Nanna remembered this and that she came to Australia around 1900. There is a passenger record of an Ann, Elizabeth and Elise Hodgetts on the Austral which arrived in 1898. Elsie was listed as 6 years old.

Elsie went on to have 9 children with James Conlon and died in Sydney in 1963. Parents names listed on her death cert are William? Hodgetts (Fruiterer) and Martha Stringer. I cannot find any definite death records for her parents in Australia.

Ancestry and google have yet to be successful. Also no DNA matches at this stage.

Added she was obviously born late 1892 and birth registered in the next qtr - baptism date was 19 Dec 1892

Who are Ann and Elizabeth?

You need her marriage certificate which will have information that she gave herself, death certificates can be too unreliable.
