We know that it was Joseph who married Martha STRINGER in 1888.  Their first child was Annie May.

I think that the marriage has broken down, Martha left with Annie and in 1901 she is living with Joe WALTON in Yorkshire.

The two eldest are Joe's children, but Hilda is their child together.

Elsie's marriage certificate came today and it said Father's name, William (same as her death cert) and that he was deceased. She was married in 1913 in East Maitland. No doubt there are allot of Hodgetts living in and around the Newcastle area and they could be related to Elsie as she did come over with some other family members. 

I am unsure if Elsie's parents came over to Aus with her and there is no one left in the family to ask unfortunately.
