The death certificate should state if he was married or not. Going by the death index it appears that is parents won't be named on it. If filled out correctly they can be a terrific source of information but at times they lack the information with the informant of death not knowing, such as parents names etc.

IF he was married the cert. should state his wife's name, you can then find a marriage and that marriage cert. should state his parents on it.

There are a few Robert Barry's so hard to tell if any of the newspaper articles are your fella or not. I can't find a death or funeral notice for him.

You need to see the death registration, 1861.

Robert BARRY died 11 Mar 1861. The notice is in the newspaper, 24 Mar 1861.

When Robert BARRY died there was someone around who had enough knowledge of, and interest in, the BARRY family to get this information to them in a short time.

Use this site to locate and pay for registration document.

Newspaper for the death notice

Published: Friday 24 May 1861
Newspaper: Cork Constitution

Thank you. Wonder if there would be any ship record for his arrival in Australia which I believe could be 1850/1851
