Very many thanks for the additional info on the Hambletons.  I am about to send off to NA for a document re William Bonsall 'the lunatic' - 1602 Obligation by William Bonsall of Heathcote, Hartington, Derbyshire, yeoman, to James Hambleton, of Sheen, Staffordshire, clerk, for £500. Condition of the obligation is the sale by William Bonsall to James Hambleton, his uncle, of all his lands, messuages, farms and tenements in Hartington.  If there is anything of interest I will let you know.

I have also found this amazing resource on the parish of Hartington.  If you haven't come across it before Map 14 on P66 has John Hambleton snr and jnr https://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/document?repid=rep1&type=pdf&doi=079a7d5bedf0b4e73039119a6c8bad4c66655db1

Best wishes
Valerie

@goldie61, would you be willing to post what you have for Ward's debts.  Specifically, I am interested in the Mylwarde record.   Thanks so much!

Here's the part of the list of debts owing to John Hambleton in 1612 showing William Mylwarde.
It doesn't tell you much more than he owes him 3 pounds (li).

I suspect the will is on findmypast - they have the Lichfield wills.
There are no Mylwarde names mentioned in the actual will.

I see I have a will for a Thomas Mylward of Sheen, 1580.
No son William mentioned.
Wife Kataren, sons Thomas, George and Homprey, daughters Ales and Margerye.
Might be part of the wider family.

And, especially for DesignerJeans if you're still following this, the inventory of this Thomas Mylward in 1580 was taken by John Slacke, Thomas Mort, Rychard Malkyn and Thomas Warde!.

Aghhhh!  I had missed this but fortunately came across your post when I was double checking info.  Great spot goldie61, thank you so much!  A connection between Thomas Ward and William Mylward - brilliant.  That is very helpful and good to know.  I will add it to my notes.

It's always fun when a name you're interested in crops up somewhere isn't it?!  ;)
It may have been that they just knew each other within the small community of Sheen at that time, and they were not necessarily related of course.
I don't think all inventory appraisors were necessarily related to the testator.
