This may be her in the 1911 census ?

And it is  ;) She didn't show I think when I did the search earlier...not very well!

She is showing as daughter. Helen Flannigan Jamieson was aged 55...

That 1902 birth you mention was illegitimate. Mother Bessie Forde.

Possible marriage in Edinburgh for a Bessie Forde in 1905 to a Hugh Courtney.

Monica

I wonder if "Bessie Forde" was really Bessie Jamieson?
A 14 yr old mother? Don't know?

mmm...the fact that there is a Bessie Forde getting married in Edinburgh as couple of years after the birth of Frances Forde I think is more likely she was the mother. Bessie showed as a domestic servant, living (working?) at 3 Salisbury Road.

She seems to be named Florence on her grave stone.

Trying to locate Frances/ Florence in the 1921 census.

I cannot see her under the name Jamieson, but there is this possibility.

When she married, she gave her occupation as a shop assistant. One of the witnesses was a Margaret Shaw Jamieson.

There was a Margaret Shaw Jamieson (born abt 1878) who married Alexander Wyllie in 1913 in Canongate.
She died in Ayr in 1942, aged 65.
I'm not sure if, or how, she is related to the Malcolm Jamieson family.  ???

Might be a different birth registration .... This one?

FORDE    FRANCES
F
1902
685 / 5 / 688
NEWINGTON

I would say that these two entries are a double registration of the birth by efficient clerks. Bessie Forde gave her residence as 3 Salisbury Road (in Newington district). Baby Frances was born at the Royal Maternity Hospital (in St Giles district).

She seems to be named Florence on her grave stone.

Did you find a reference to her death, Neale?
