George married Sarah A Cooper, Newbury, 1932

George died 1981, Berkshire

death reg in 1981 gives his dob as 7 May 1894, and previous replies have identified his father as Charles. Mother possibly Jemima, from 1911 census posted earlier. But needs to be checked.

George Goodman's birth reg Newbury district (covers Thatcham) Q2 1894, mmn Hunt

Charles Goodman age 21 married Jemima Langford age 24 at Thatcham on 11 Nov 1882. His father was George Goodman and hers was George Hunt. This was from transcript on FindMyPast, no marital status given, but from the names it looks like Jemima was a widow when she married Charles.

Looks like Jemima Hannah Hunt married Alfred Langford in 1875. Newbury district, can't find a parish record so don't know if it was Thatcham as well.

There's a death for an Alfred Langford age 47 in Q2 1882, Reading district. Quite a bit older than her. Can't find anything else close though.

1881 census, Jemima Langford and son Henry age 1 is with Henry Bye and his wife Jane, she is recorded as his sister in law, so looks like jane Bye was nee Hunt. henry and Jemima both work in a paper factory / mill.

The aged Alfred is a lodger in a pub in Reading - says he's unmarried. I wonder if it is the right one and they had split up. I can't see another candidate for Jemima's missing husband in 1881
