Thomas Alcock m Elizabeth Wilcock - Marriage Year

1851 census records the following family living in Mansfield.    Thomas Alcock b.1807, Long Benton, Gloucester, Elizabeth Alcock (nee Wilcock) b.1812 in Nottinghamshire and the following children born in Mansfield: Harriet 1833, Lucy 1842, Gera 1847 (I think this is a transcription error for Elizabeth or Eliza) and Joseph 1850.

I've had no luck finding the marriage of Thomas and Elizabeth and would be grateful for help.   The age gap between Harriet (18) and Lucy (9) is as recorded but raises question of parents' marriage.

It seems a bit of a coincidence that a Thomas Alcock married in Mansfield in the third quarter of 1838.  No sign of an Elizabeth among the possible spouses.  Could he have married someone else?  I couldn't find civil registration of birth of Lucy (1842) in Mansfield.

Thanks for your help and suggestions but for some reason there is no record for this marriage. There is ample evidence (census)  that Thomas Alcock and 'Elizabeth' were linked but there is no marriage record.  I think the possibility of marrying in another country at that period in time is a non-starter.   Transcription error - unlikely.   Thanks for your interest

Gerry, just as a matter of interest where does the surname Wilcock originate, ie is it on  a birth certificate for any of their children

They are living in Claines, Worcestershire in 1851 - Not Mansfield
