Many thanks to everyone for their interest and patience in this complicated family history.   I was hoping the research would find a marriage record for the parents of Elizabeth Alcock b.1844 who married William Ferriday Evans in 1868, together with a possible lead to an earlier Alcock generation.   The Alcock family history is complex and there appears to be no definitive answer to the family line, or am I having another senior moment and missing the obvious?    Thanks again, everyone.

Gerry, I personally suspect that Thomas Alcock had a marriage to Mary Brooks and a "relationship" with Elizabeth Brooks her sister. The birth of Lucy with mmn Brooks is a very good indicator. As well as this Elizabeth's daughter Harriet at marriage is Harriet Brooks Alcock with a father of Thomas on her marriage cert. Joseph her son also uses the Brooks name when a witness to Harriet's marriage.
A digital image Joseph's marriage would cost less than a couple of cups of coffee (Costa anyway).

As I say to many coincidences. Believe other RC's would say the same.

John

Should have added that there is online an image of Elizabeth's marriage to William Ferriday Evans and it records her father as Thomas Alcock-occ-Lace Manfacturer.
