Braeholm, Infirmary
« on: Tuesday 15 August 23 19:49 BST (UK) »
I was born at Braeholm, Infirmary, Helensburgh in December 1960.
I visited there 12 years, ago it was  run by a charity.. The sailors rest..
There was a cafe open to the public & accommodation to rent..
It's now been converted into luxury flats...
Is there anyone who remembers this place when it was a, maternity hospital?

Two of my sons were born there the Doctor who was in charge was Dr Erskine he lived in the big house next to Braeholm. After the maternity hospital closed it became a old folks home for several years then the Sailors Rest .And now made in to flats it was not known as an Infirmary just as Braeholm Maternity Hospital.

Thankyou Rosie, yes that's interesting,
The first time I visited Braeholm it was an old folks home I'd forgotten about that, what years were your sons born, I was born in 1960... My family lived at Levenbank Terrace, Jamestown.
