Robert and Maria?

Hi folks, Robert Ellis marrief Maria Bailey xmas day 1823 Dawley Shropshire, they had 6 children i think, Henry, Martha , Sophja, Willm, Emma and Jane. Cant seem to find them from 1841 census anywhere! Thanks.

Have you looked in Staffordshire for them as the 1851 entry for Staffs shows children born there before 1841

Have asked the moderator to move your post to the Staffs board as you have posted on the Common Room board

Here's the 1851 entry reference    piece 2026 folio  142 page 20

I think they are in West Bromwich in 1841. The name is spelled 'Elliss', and the image is poor, but there are Robert, Maria, and family. They are still there in 1851, spelled 'Ellis', where you can see that they were born in Dawley.

Both census returns posted seem to be the correct family, my only concern is not all of the children match the original post.

I wonder what happened to Henry,  Willm, Emma and Jane?

It's not clear from opening post where the childrens names have come from if he was unable to find any census entries
