The only document I have is the link posted in my original message and a Danish record of the two children he had with my 4th great grandmother, Juliane Marie Terkelsen (who he appears to have not married).

Hi
According to Magdalene and Alvilde's birth records they were born illegitimate.

Here´s his birth cert.

Lütjenburg 1801

Johann Hinrich Frobös zu Wentorf. Johann
Hinrich Frobös, Musqurtier bym Schleswigster
Infantrie Regiment, und Katharina Sophie Jann
sen, vorgeblich ehelicher Sohn, auf der Reise geboren
Gevattern:
Marc Hinrich Jopp
Johann Hinrich Lattendorf
Catharina Maria Ahrens
Henning Friedrich Rönnefeld und Detlef Rönnefeld
--------------------------------------------------------------
Johann Hinrich Frobös from Wentorf. Johann
Hinrich Frobös, musketeer in the Schleswig infantry regiment
and Katharina Sophie Jannsen, alleged legitimate son
born on their journey through.
Witnesses:
Marc Hinrich Jopp
Johann Hinrich Lattendorf
Catharina Maria Ahrens
Henning Friedrich Rönnefeld und Detlef Rönnefeld

Seems like they were on their way from Wentorf, near Hamburg, to maybe somehere further north.
They were forced to stop in Lütjenberg so she could deliver her child.

So i think they lived somewhere in the vicinity of Copenhagen.
That meaning searching danish records to find other siblings of Johann junior:

Yes, that would fit in as Johan Jr. Magdalene and Alvilde were born in the Copenhagen Garnison Parish.

It doesn't help either as Johan and Juliane didn't seem to get married.

Hi again TuTuTulip.
I have just realised that our paths have crossed before with this family that emigrated to Australia.
Let's hope we can help you again.

Great find — thanks, Dave — I appreciate it! I am more familiar with Danish records, so I will keep searching through those to see if Johann sr and Katharina had any further children. :)

Hello Ian! So nice to meet you on here again.  :) Thanks so much for all your research last time — it really helped put all those puzzle pieces together. I am hoping this latest quest will help me put together a more extensive tree so I can match up some distant DNA connections. In doing so, I hope to confirm the hypothesis that my 2x great-grandfather is the same person who emigrated to Australia (and somehow ended up in New Zealand)! It's proving to be a tough one though since I know nothing about my 2x great-grandfather's paternal side of the family. I am beginning to suspect that Johan Frobøs (junior) didn't have any siblings, so I might be back to square one with my research (I haven't been successful in finding DNA connections through Johan's other daughter, Alvilda).
