Births?

Hi folks. In 1851 census there is a Robert Ellis and his wife Maria. They have 8 children but i cant see some of the records of birth on FindMyPast? Namely Robert age 20, Mark 10 Edwin 8 Maria 6 or Esther inf?

Have you looked for them on the GRO index though most would be pre registration.

Perhaps you mean baptisms

Ref Robert - There are no birth registrations prior to 1837. 

Failure to register a birth only became a fineable offence in 1974 so it’s not unusual to be unable to find a registration after 1837

I recall from another post that Maria was nee Bailey so would suggest you have a look at the 1850 birth for Esther on freebmd

All the births you say you are unable to find are on freebmd.  Mark 1839 Edwin 1842 Maria 1844
