Jonas Reeves 1720 Hertfordshire
« on: Sunday 20 August 23 10:34 BST (UK) »
Not sure if anyone can help with this query, but thought I would ask.
I have a Jonas Reeves born 1720 Thunderidge, Hertfordshire, married in 1747 to Elizabeth Kingdom, died around 1799. Parents I think we’re a Jonas Reeves 1695 - ?. I cannot seem to get any further back. The name Jonas is Scandinavian /German and was wondering is there a way of trying to find out?  I have birth, marriage records and was wondering if anyone has any further info. Many thanks

Also  James transcribed as Samuel parents Jonas and Anne baptised September 1719 at Thundridge

Had another look at it, I agree with Ciderdrinker - it is Samuel

Not necessarily related to your Jonas REEVES, however there was Jonas REEVES ship's captain (Elizabeth), in the time of Oliver Cromwell (1652).
