Winifred Florence Rogers died at sea
« on: Sunday 20 August 23 11:00 BST (UK) »
dear all,
I have a mystery regarding the death of Winifred Florence Rogers (born Sully) She was born October 1902 in Hendon and married Charles John Rogers September 1928, Hendon.
I have her date of death as 06-07-1937 with mention of died at sea and also a burial date of 19-07-1937 at St. Mary's, Hendon. This is information from trees on Ancestry, unfortunately no one has replied to my inquiries.
How can I find more information regarding the events surrounding her death?
Newspaper records maybe? can anyone suggest other options. I shall look to order her death certificate but hope to exhaust all other possible options  ::)

FindMyPast show that information in relation to Administration of her will.  Address given as 33 Silkfield Road, Hendon.

FindMyPast also have a few more details of her death - travelling on "Montclare", died of diabetic coma.

The Hendon 7 Finchley Times, 16 Jul 1937, carries a report under the heading "Died on Holiday Cruise"

Added - a report of the funeral appeared in the 23 July edition.

There is a further entry in the Hendon & Finchley Times on 23 July related to the funeral, with a large number of relatives named and designated.

Added:  Snap, hanes teulu  :)

Wow, what a drama ! Thanks for all the replies and information  ;D
I am guessing that the findMyPast site requires membership and payment to view these newspaper reports in the Hendon Finchley Times? I may have to sign up !
