Pre 1855- Gravestone Inscriptions on Speyside
« on: Sunday 20 August 23 15:57 BST (UK) »
Hello.

I wonder if anybody has access to :-

Pre 1855- Gravestone Inscriptions on Speyside by Alison Mitchell, Scottish Genealogy Society, 1974.

I am particularly interested in (I believe) page 83, which has a transcription of the Aberlour gravestone of Robert Findlay, his son John and others. I have a recent transcription but this is unclear at the bottom of the stone as the stone has worn away over the years.

I think the original transcript gave an age for John as 73 yrs but this is not mentioned in the later transcription. I have a photo of the stone and the bottom part is unreadable.

The History of the Province of Moray, Vol 1 P 186 by Lachlan Shaw, printed 1882 which is available online also gives an age of 73 yrs for John.

If anybody has this transcription I would much appreciate it.

Many thanks.
