October 1921 electoral roll
« on: Monday 21 August 23 06:43 BST (UK) »
Hello , I am looking for someone to have a look and print off if successful the electoral roll for 13 Berwick St , Chorlton off Brook St , Manchester for October 1921 . I believe my late grandfather might have been residing there , William Jones , house painter . I live in Coventry , so not practical to view myself . I would like to add that census page to his part of family bible if possible.
Any help would be much appreciated
Regards
Alan
ps I believe it might be on microfilm at Manchester Archives

I haven't seen the electoral roll, but the 1921 census has the occupant as William Edwin Matthews and family.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

You need to check with Manchester RO but I think ER's were compiled in April so will only show residence at that time.  If you are looking for somebody who was only there from October 1921 you need the 1922 ER if they remained there.  If they were only lodging there - they won't appear

I had a look but no success.
The autumn electoral roll shows just one name -
Elsie Harrop, 13 Berwick Street

I hadn’t seen Carole’s message so perhaps the Archives might check for you.

You have hi jacked an unconnected post which can cause confusion.  You should have raised a new post.  I will ask the moderator to move it for you

Which Burlington St - there’s one in Liverpool & one in Manchester

Have you checked the 1921 census for the people you are looking for - see my reply #3 above
