Just offering this as a possible, how many times have we found a "made up fathers name". There are 4 births in the Garganhill reg district

Mararet Annie Hollywood's birth registration records a father of Peter Hollywood & Mary Garvie. Peter's occ "Grain Miller" (baker?) This is he same occ when Peter Hollywood (aged 32) married Mary Garvie in 1917.

Until raa lets us know the mmn on 1929 birth cert cannot move on

added: Peter Hollywood died aged 77 in 1957 in the district of Provan, Scotland.

thats son in 1929 his mother was mary Summers b 1908

Mary Summers* appears with

Joseph Summers - Father
Isabella(Stuart) Summers- Mother
Isabella (Granger) Summers* sister-
Marion Granger

Both Mary* & Isabella* are the illegitimate children of Joseph & Isabella (Granger)

Parents married 1913 St Rollocks.

When opening home page of Scotlandspeople click on advanced people search
Move to census returns and choose what census you require

What was the address given on John Granger's birth record--was it 4, Leckethill Street, Garngadhill

Mary Summers married James Begley.

Mary Begley died 1972 ( her dob 15.2.1908) parents recorded as Joseph Summers-occ plumber & Isabella Summers ms Granger.

It looks as though John Granger Summers Hollywood mother Mary Summers never married a John Hollywood, so probably illegitimate.
