Charles Lucas
« on: Monday 21 August 23 07:39 BST (UK) »
Charles Lucas was born in Dry Drayton, Cambs 1778.

In Histon, 1844 he died and was buried 6 October 1844. A sale, Cambridge Chronicle 28 Sept 1844 has a Garden and Cottage for sale, proprietor Charles Lucas.

Can anyone see Charles in 1841?

Also, his brother Stephen Lucas died 1851. I found an Index to a Death Duty Register with his nephew Samuel Winders as Executor ... Folio No 383.

Can anyone see the Register or Will for Stephen?

Well done and thank you.

I was confused with the family living with him.

As far as I can tell the lady was Mary Leach, not married, and the two children were her children.

She was most likely the housekeeper for Charles and I believe the children were his children.
In 1841 there is a baptism for Lydia Leach, but registered Lydia Lucas 14 44.
In 1843 there is a record , 14 50, for both a " Lucas Leach" and a "Lucas Lucas"

Thanks again
