Windows 11
« on: Monday 21 August 23 14:03 BST (UK) »
I wish I had never upgraded to 11 from 10!
The 'copy and paste' option doesn't work on Win 11 but fortunately it works from my Opera Browser; secondly the download function keeps saying it's been 'interrupted' so thus it doesn't download anything at all and I have to 'resume' it! Hopeless for ancestral research.
The system seems to be going from bad to worse. Why don't they hold back before making you update rubbish systems?

Sounds like some of your system files may be corrupted.

Try running the System File Checker

Have followed the windows instructions on  DISM.ex  including (sfc which I've done before ) but not the DISM so hopefully this will sort it out.
Thank you for the advice.

Upgrading an old PC to Win 11 is not a good idea.

I just build a new PC and Win 11 works a treat.

My old PC upgraded to Win 11 but then after a couple of Win 11 updates it started to give problems hence the new build

My pc was only 6 months old when it updated to 11. By the way not everyone can build their own computers nor spend even more money buying a new one!
Probably will have to put up with Win 11 errors until I get a new pc in about 5 years time!

Ever thought of buying a Mac? Much simpler. I bought a disk burner about 20 years ago. The instructions for Windows ran to over 4 pages. Those for a Mac simply amounted to “plug it in and turn it on”. Bought a new Canon printer the other week. The Canon website said it wasn’t compatible with the latest Mac OS - works fine!

Not to sure about Mac. Being used to Windows, it might cause more problems not knowing the Mac procedures?
