Unfortunately the original register is not on Ancestry so can’t check to see if it’s a transcription error

Image of original burial entry is on FindMyPast and age is definitely 28

I've looked at all Richard Jones deaths in the Sept & Dec qtrs of 1842 on GRO online but none are 28.  Mystery!!

I've just looked at every Jones death in the Sept & Dec qtrs - only a few 28yr olds - nothing resembling Richard or in Shropshire.

Have you found him on the 1841 census? Is his age close to 28? Could the burial age be wrong?
