Bit of a long shot here but just wondered if anything showed up for Roy Pool , eldest son of Mr and Mrs Pool of Denver , Colorado. He got engaged to my Auntie May in October 1944 , he was serving in the U S Army , she was 16 . Nothing came of it but I wondered if he made back to the States ok .

Did he have a middle name and what year was he born ?

There is a Roy Leonard Pool born 1921 Coldorado this person was in the navy but does not appear to be the eldest son of Mr Mrs Pool.

Rosie - are you looking at Roy L Pool born 11th November 1921 to Leonard and Martha J Pool ?
He is the only one the right age I can find born in Denver ,Colorado

1950 CENSUS  HAS ONE SON
IF SO - Roy  died 1997

Yes that's the one garstonite that was the only one I could see from Colorado

I think that Roy L Pool in the Navy may possibly be Roys Uncle - as he enlisted 1928 - when Roy L Jnr was only 7 ?
so I wouldn't write him off just yet ...?

According to his obit, this Roy married his wife Doris in 1943, a full year before the engagement for Auntie May in October 1944.
