The headmistress was Janet S A Macaulay, not Jane.

It looks as if she had more than two siblings. At least five of the family died in Scotland. See screenshots from Scotland's People.

m. 1. Elizabeth McAlister; m. 2. Agnes Connell.
2.Elizabeth McAulay, b. 1787
2.William McAulay, c. 1789-1861, merchant and calico printer;  trustees and executor of his will were
Robert Gow, Jr. and James Scott.  I believe that the Gow family were possibly related and the Scott family, related
to the Houstons; William m. 1812 Margaret Houstoun, dau of Andrew Houstoun, merchant;  Margaret died 10/2/1855.
William and Margaret raised their niece and nephew, Margaret Victoria Houstoun, b. 1827 and William Houstoun, b. 1828,
the children of a different Andrew Houstoun and Marie Victoria Goulard. The children were born in Grenada.

2.Thomas McAulay, c.1811-1862, died unmarried.

The McAulay family of Shawfied bank were wealthy and they have a grave in the Glasgow Necropolis
with the the following burials mentioned:
Margaret McAulay, nee Houstoune, died 10/2/1855
William, died 3/7/1862
Agnes, died 5/5/1865
James, died 1/26/1886---which James?
Peter, died 6/13/1911
William, 4/14-1870-3/18/1920
Agnes McAulay, nee Stirling, died 11/9/1916

-------------------------------------------

The third group:
1.Aulay McAulay, maltman in Dumbarton, m. 1721 Jean Wilson, b. abt. 1697, dau of Laurence Wilson, wright, and Jean Hamilton.
2.James McAulay, b. 5/30/1722

2.John McAulay, b. 8/21/1726
2.William McAulay, b. 8/4/1729
-----------------------------------

I cannot promise that the genealogy of the Shawfield Bank family is 100% accurate as the same names
seemed to run in the family, but I would say that it is at least 80% OK.  Anyway, it is a start.
The Houstoun family is extremely interesting, although only related through marriage.
This family was very well connected.  As I stated earlier, I believe that the Gow family was also connected.  I will
check a few notes to make sure.
