Elizabeth Wither, Wigtownshire

Elizabeth married James McHarg on 13 June 1828 in Portpatrick, Wigtownshire, Scotland. They had 3 children Alexander 1829, Mary in 1831 and John 1834. Elizabeth appears on the Rev Urquhart Census of 1832-34 as the wife of James, she is 38 and had lived in the Parish for 19 years.
James subsequently married Minnie Adair in 1838 in Portpatrick.
I am aware that the Portpatrick records are not available.
Can anyone please help solve the mystery of Elizabeth?

Presumably James is shown as a widower when he married Minnie??  If so - Elizabeth must have died between the birth of John & 1838

In the absence of available records you won't be able to find her date of death

Unfortunately that information doesn’t seem to be available. so left in  question. Any help would be welcome as this has been question for many years
