Thomas Murray marriage to Charlotte Cairns
« on: Saturday 26 August 23 10:34 BST (UK) »
Could SKS lookup the marriage of Thomas Murray to Charlotte Cairns 17 July 1836 St James Piccadilly for me please. It tantalisingly comes up in ancestry but my subscription doesn't allow me to view the details. Particularly the address of Thomas & witnesses & confirmation of James Murray carpenter as the father
Many thanks

Unfortunately the marriage is just before civil registration began in July 1837, so father's name and addresses are not shown. The marriage was by banns. The witnesses names are difficult (for me) to read, one looks like Barthw (Bartholomew) CAIRNS, can't quite make out the other - Catherine ??

As this was a pre-1837 marriage, there are no details of fathers or ages.  Both said to be of this parish, both signed and one of the witnesses was Barth'mew Cairns, I cannot determine the name of the other witness.

thank you so much both.  I was hoping it would be a parish register as my Murray clan are proving very difficult to put together.

It was the parish register image BUT prior to 1837 the information in the register is minimal.
