Looking for information regarding deportations from NZ

I thought I read somewhere that if someone is deported from New Zealand, they are returned to the last country where they had citizenship. It's possible he was deported under his real name as opposed to one of the aliases he used. The year of deportation was 1977 and I suspect he was deported to Australia because in 1947 he applied for Australia citizenship.

His name was Deryck John Golding and he was arrested in Napier NZ between 1974-1976 and by that time the authorities knew about the aliases. There was a court case in Napier in approximately 1975-76 and the Department of Justice claim he was deported in June/July 1977.

Q :   Where did you get the information re:  Department of Justice  ??    And ... are you meaning "New Zealand Department of Justice "

Hi Glenda,

Sadly, unless you have evidence that the individual you are seeking is deceased we must consider that he may still be living, and this topic will need to be removed to protect his privacy.

I would suggest that you make enquiries with the Salvation Army who are very good at finding missing persons (if they wish to be found).

Otherwise instigate searches in the Australia states and territory for those names (although if he used two aliases he probably used others).
