Elizabeth Ann Larder
« on: Monday 28 August 23 11:22 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I need fresh eyes on this. I have Elizabeth being born in January 1842 in Woolwich to William and Eliza Larder. I cannot find her after that.
Thanks.

I see in 1851 their 6 yr old daughter was born in Ireland.  So did Elizabeth Ann die in Ireland perhaps?

You beat me to it  :) my thoughts too.
I can’t see a birth death to 1851 in Woolwich area.

**sorry!

Woolwich.

1851 Mary A is 6 born Dublin
& James R is 3 born Woolwich.
So from the baptism of Elizabeth Ann, to the birth of James they could have been anywhere.

William was discharged 1846. His record is on Fold3. It may give more detail.  Peering at the blurry image I can see he was in either the West or East Indies for a time too

Thanks, I thought she must have died as a child, but it's impossible to find out where I suppose.

His discharge medical report, Dec 1846 refers an injury incurred in 1835 after his return from the West Indies (served 5yrs 4mths**). It goes on to refer to his being "last year at Kill .....? Port on the Shannon."i

** Doesn't indicate if it was a single tour of duty but seems unlikely he was there after Elizabeth Ann's birth/baptism Woolwich.
