Now you mention it ,I have looked and what diverse names ,some obviously not  English .
What a lot of research you will have had to do.
Can’t have been easy.
Hope you enjoyed the “ journey” .
Viktoria.

Congratulations LM for your 59th wedding anniversary…. Wonder if your O.H suggested lunch out? 🤞..

Viktoria- your granddaughter sounds like a wonderful cake maker - thanks to William Rich who first made one of these tiered cakes in 1700’s.

Radstockjeff - a sad moment for your family but a silver lining if it’s brought estranged members of your family together … it does seems to occur at BMD’s for some reason. Thoughts with you for your loss of Nick.

Well must do some ironing….

1964 was obviously a good year for marriages - well, at least for two of us  :o

1956 was a very good year !
Just as your O.H ,L.M, mine was not very sentimental but great ( often  hideous ) bouquets of flowers would arrive. !
Presents yes, but few words when they would have sufficed.
We are all different aren’t we .
G,Daughter is a good baker, and did well through lockdown ,and earned a good amount with her baking but like her G.Dad is an accountant .
She got her food hygiene certificate because every Saturday at the showroom ( motor cycles, ) they do food for browsers looking for a new bike ,it has developed into a sort of club, and the customers are very loyal, like a big family really.
Flash Harry and now Kyra also are big attractions as is the family dog!

I used to make all the family cakes ,for all sorts of occasions , but never our own .My daughter did our Golden Wedding and grandchildren helped so it was simple but meant so much.
I never charged anyone but made it my gift or I would have worried .
I was staggered at the prices charged ,by confectioners for a three tier rich fruit cake fully iced .
Daylight robbery.

Well have a little gift for F,H who goes into the Juniors ,so need to get to the Post.
Cheerio. Thanks for the gentle but interesting snippets of news .They have been a real boon throughout Covid and still are,,
I hope Roobarb is O.K ,not seen a post from her for a while.
Cheerio everyone.
Viktoria.

Congratulations LM.
Days of remembering are always hard imo.
We don’t go out on a bank holiday as neither of us are very keen on crowds. Much prefer to go out on a Thursday when we don’t have child care duties. Start of school term next week. I’ve enjoyed the break from usual routine as I’ve got a LOT of sorting, tidying and throwing out done. Never seem to get that done in a usual week.

Thank you all for your good wishes.

I did a lot of shredding yesterday, well overdue, it is such a boring job but I seem to accumulate a lot of paperwork,  nice feeling though to get overdue jobs done. I feel my whole house wants decluttering, well not declutter as such but 59 years of stuff, I can see a big skip outside our house if my daughter has her way eventually, never moved so no chance of getting rid of things.

We did child care to and from school and holidays,  enjoyable most of the time but a little fraught on others.

Sun out but it is chilly today.

Take care everyone

LM
