Margaret Munro born 1845 Strath ,disappears in Edinburgh
« on: Tuesday 29 August 23 12:43 BST (UK) »
Hello
Trying to find this lady for someone in my family history group.

Looking for a Margaret Munro born 1845 in Strath.
She was baptised as Peggy in the same year daughter of William Munro and Mary Macfayden.
Got until 1872 when she has a daughter Edith Joan in Edningburgh.
Then a possible sighting 1881 18 Nicholson St Edinburgh
Margaret 37 millner Invernesshire
lodging with a Christina tod 39 Milner born Newburgh Fife and her children George 8 ,Richard 7 and Jessie 5.
What happened to her after that?

Daughter's marriage Cert 1905 says she is deceased.

Any ideas.
I've slogged through marriages in Edinburgh 1972-1905 but there are still 13 possibles out of 46 initial entries.
And lets face it even if I paid for each one there's no guarantee that I'd find her.

Any clues out there?

Margaret Munro, other surname Lovebrook, mmn McFadyen, 80, died in Old Kilpatrick in 1926.

Margaret Munro married William Lovebrook in Edinburgh in 1878.

Suggest taking a look at her death certificate.

William Lovebrook appears to have been born in Camberwell, London about 1825. In 1851 he was a footman in London. In 1861 he was a domestic servant, living with his uncle William Hetherton. In 1871 he was an eating house keeper in Edinburgh, with wife Jane. In 1881 he was a waiter hotel servant in Colinton, ,arried but not living with his wife. In 1891 he was a former butler and an inmate of the City of Edinburgh Poorhouse at Craiglockhart.

His wife Jane Hetherton died in Abercorn (the parish where she was born) in 1877, and William died in Edinburgh in 1899.

Margaret Lovebrook is in the 1921 census in Old Kilpatrick, but not in any other census.

Good Morning
Sorry not to get back to you earlier.
That does look good.
It means Edith must have lied on her marriage certificate in 1905 when she said her mother was dead.
But then she was lying about other things, like her parents being married instead of being born to a single mother.
Yes will pass that on at the group and fingers crossed it's the right.
Thank you VERY much!
I'll get back to you if He goes for it and buys the death cert.
All the best

Might be a good idea to get her marriage certificate as well, as that will contain information she herself provided.

And 'He' doesn't need to 'buy' either certificate. You could view both online for about the price of a fancy coffee.

Good Morning
Great idea Forfarian.
I'd love to say that's what he'll do but...
It was the Family History Session yesterday 2-4pm.
He turned up at 10 to 4
He took my info ,gave me a fiver for the computer prints I'd done for him  and said he'd take a look and get back to me.
So let me say I really appreciate your work.I know how much time that would have took and thanks for the effort.
You did Brilliantly !!!!
I think You are Right .
Keep you the Great work
And thank you again
