Help finding 1914/15 Star & Service Medal Cards

4(a) & 4(b) were one in the same.
Egypt:  Code 4 from Jan. 1st. 1916
a 4th/5th November 1914 - 18th/19th March 1916
b 18th/19th March 1916 - 31st October/1st November 1918

OP quoted 4a and 4b?

Why does that Roll Card state Theatre 4a and 4b  ? for 2/10th Middx dates that should have been Palestine

However, there is a slightly different list from 1st January 1916:
4A Egypt (up to 18/19 March 1916)
4B Egypt (from 18/19 March 1916)

My Stupidity wrongly half read the Theatre Codes 4a 4b as Africa - Ooops
Now it all makes sense for Egypt

Africa was coded 4a up till Dec. 1915 but by the time your man got there
the code had been applied to Egypt.
3 months later they changed it again to 4b based on the Army principle
that making something complicated was preferable to keeping it simple.
