Hyndman family

This genealogy of the Hyndman was sent to me years ago by a descendant of the Macaulay family of Crumlin and Larne.  This pedigree was put together mostly by Frederic William Macaulay c. 1918.  Frederic Macaulay was born in 1864 and passed away in 1933.  I haven't done much with it, so it is about time to get the information out on the net to let other researchers run with it.  I hope it will be of both interest and help.--Paul

A James Hyndman is said to have come from Scotland, perhaps from the Paisley area, to Co. Antrim in the time of Charles II.  His grandson or great-grandson was

1.James Hyndman who m. 1. to a McKinstrey of Armagh; m. 2. to Mary Ann Ray.

2.Robert Hymdman of Connor, Co. Antrim m. Jane Archibald (this Robert may have been a brother of James's, rather than a son).

3.James Hyndman died 1779, aged 57;  Bonmargy Churchyard;  m. Miss Carney and had issue.

5.Catherine Hyndman m. Marcus Ward of Belfast;  Catherine died in 1830, aged 22.  He m. 2. to Ellen Veacock;  I believe that Marcus is the same person who went on to become the head of  one of the largest publishing companies in the UK at that time.
