John Joass (1770-1849) & Mar. to Janet Hird/Herd and/or Janet McCombie

Hello,

I am trying to verify whether John Joass 1770-1849 Gamrie, Banffshire is the John Joass that married either Janet Hird or possibly spelt Herd, and or Janet McCombie.

I could not find a marriage record for Hird but found a marriage index for Janet McCombie. Does anyone have a the marriage record for Janet McCombie which might shed light on which John Joass she married. I haven't located a death record for either of the possible spouses.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Marriage is on FreeREG, 2 entries, with extra info that is not on Ancestry entry

The John Joass who married Janet Hird was having kids in 1800 (other John married in 1809)
