Here is a list of Patrick Doogan births for 1917. It does also show mmn Doogan births which you can probably ignore.
As you can see, none show the exact date of birth as the English records but it does happen that there is sometimes a slight mismatch.
That is why knowing the father’s details would be helpful.

One tree I can see shows his birth place as Gort an Choirce (Gortahork) which is in Donegal. There is no evidence for this on the tree.
The Registration area would be Milford and although there are Doogan (variation) births there, there is not a Patrick born 1917.

Thanks for that. I have already gone down that road and it is the wrong Doogan. Following your previous advice I have looked at marriage records and it does appear that Patrick snr did marry twice (although cannot find divorce record). Patrick Jnr was born to first wife, along with older sister. He was sent to Australia but Lawrence does not appear on their records. He is however on the same ship sent to freemantle in 1953. This I do not understand.

But Lawrence shares the same mother’s surname.
The birth certificate will confirm the parents.

I have checked the birth register and they both come up with the same mothers maiden name (Watson). However I have checked mine and other family tree information and Lawrence does not appear. Also on 1939 census he(Patrick snr) is seen living in Sheffield with Dorothy whom he married in 1938.

Do you think then, in your opinion that Lawrence may not have been related and that it is pure coincidence regarding maiden name and other information?

There is only one Doogan/Watson marriage that we can see.
The only way you are going to find out is by checking the birth certificates for the boys.

Maybe start with Lawrence as you are fairly sure about Patrick.

Next step would be to check marriage details for Patrick snr to find a father.
