Samuel T Entwistle of Bury
« on: Saturday 02 September 23 00:28 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I had a DNA test done some time ago and a recent update has linked me to someone through a person I wasnt aware of.

My 7x Great Grandfather was Abraham Entwistle b. 1823 in Bury to William & Mary Entwistle. I have census records of the family in 1841. By then William has already died and Mary has remarried John Holt. Abraham is living with 2 brothers, Richard and William Entwistle, as well as several half-siblings, James, John, Ann & Robert Holt.

The person linked to me was said to be related to me through Abraham's other brother Samuel T Entwistle b. 1828 but I cannot find any record of him. I'm aware that DNA tests are not always easy to confirm connection but wondered if anyone else could see anything?

Thanks, Luke

I can see about 3 Samuel Entwistles born around that time in the vicinity of Bury. But none as a sibling of Abraham.
Are you able to post the line your match has back to “his” Samuel?

By my reckoning, but it’s late here and I may not be thinking straight and there were three Sarah Jane Entwistles born in 1865/1866. .If you follow Sarah Jane back, via her marriage, you can see her father was a Samuel married to Jane.
That marriage Samuel to Jane Sandiford was in 1864 and the marriage image is on Ancestry. Samuel’s father is also Samuel, a bleacher.

So he cannot be a brother to your Abraham
