Any record or information about George Crowley

I believe from what I have read that Cornelius, the father, had done some time in prison before coming out - so I guess like father, like son 

According to my deciphering and interpretation  Cornelius is not the child's father.

There is a note on the file description for the document found by Judith.  It says held on hulk Deborah. This was one of several at Hobsons Bay.

I can see the words on the document at the bottom left.
28 days Deborah 1866.

This item is about the hulk Deborah.

Thanks Sue - that makes sense, I am thinking Catherine was previously married before Cornelius. When later Catherine remarried to Cornelius  - George became a stepson.

Reply #7 the reading is- Father dead. Mother married again.

So maybe she was actually previously married or maybe she was not.

Whichever way, Cornelius is not George's father.
