Perhaps you can get a short subscription to ancestry or perhaps the library edition has the PCC Wills.
Reading them yourself would put things in context.

John Perry who dies 1806 - Probate 26 March 1806
Wife Mary
Youngest son John to get property in Northampton
son James to get the water mills in Lavendon Bucks. when he reaches age 21
brother in law William Rabon
Friend William Plowman
daughters Mary and Elizabeth

It is a very long will and the names of the property being handed down is a determining factor.

The Friend and brother in law are executors.

James who married Rebecca named a son William Plowman Perry 1831-1835 - coincidence?

So maybe John and James are the sons of this John and his wife Mary nee Rabon.

Check if the license survives who was with him as guarantor could be telling.

Hi Ormondg

Thanks for all you replies, my pc went down, hence the delay in responding

If you can still help. My question as to whether John Perry (husband of Elizabeth Phipps)  b Lavendon 1798 and James Perry (husband of Rebecca Brooks) b 1798, are brothers or not might be clarified by this: (though I was under the impression that James was the only surviving son of 5 children of John & Jane Slater)

Juliet Elizabeth Sophia Perry, aged 18, visited John in 1861 (he was a widower at the  time). Juliet apparently was bap to James & Rebecca ? 17.2.1843 Newport Pagnell & b there. However she was unlikely to be Rebecca (Brooks) dau as Emma b 1822 was their youngest dau, she was also never with them on any Census - so who were her parents?

She lived with a Sarah Wilson (widow) as her niece when she was 8 (1851) with 2 young men (Brooks) who were cousins of Sarah Wilson. Sarah Wilson may have m William Wilson 1827 as Sarah Brooks, but how she fits in with say Rebecca Brooks (above) I can't say. She was b 1804, whilst Rebecca was b 1792 (the youngest child by far in the Brooks family) so they were not sisters, so  how were Juliet & Sarah related?

I wonder where Juliet fits in with the Perry's

Can you tell me the name of John Perry's 2nd wife Mary ? (after Jane Slater d) and their m date. Can you also advise as to the names of all the children of John & Jane - you mentioned Charles & Jane (and poss John b 1798 above) There was an Ann Whitlock on the family gravestone, dau of James, though it states she d 23.6.1817 aged 29 Woburn, Beds (so b @1788) - perhaps an error or ?

Thanks for any help
