But are you thinking this is the one with Polson grandparents?
In which case the daughter of Adam is back in the frame?

I don't know really. It is a bit complicated, especially without easy access to all the records in Scotland.

Adam's daughter has the only connection to Staffordshire that's been found so far, though not a compelling one in regard to giving it as her place of birth.
Mum lived into her eighties, as did your one in New Zealand. Is that a sign?

Could she have already been married? As there is no marriage for Mathias and Jessie, and he doesn't appear to have married anybody else.

Scotlands People has a Jessie BANNERMAN marriage at Golspie in 1890 to a George ROY/GRAHAM. This should confirm which one she belongs to.

The David MACKAY with the Thatchers in 1881 looks like David Rose MACKAY  who married Catherine Cameron SUTHERLAND in Glasgow in 1873.
