Hi, Im wondering if anyone would know where my friends gran would be buried.  They lived in Oatlands a good few years ago.

Was she buried or cremated? Perhaps looking for a funeral announcement in the newspapers might be a possibility. There is never a guarantee that people are buried in the nearest graveyard. If nothing comes up for her, it would be worth seeing is there is a funeral announcement for her husband. If she was buried, it would likely be with him.

Unfortunately Religion also played a part in selecting which cemetery was used.

Given the Oatlands connection the Southern necropolis immediately springs to mind but as said by GR2 there are a number of other factors which may change that.

Hi Sancti, her name was Mary Elizabeth James and she died in 1965.

Most likely in the Southern Necropolis as is was a few hundred yards from her home

Not showing on St Peter's records on SP

Did her husband die in Motherwell?

He died in motherwell, before she did I think

A few miles north-east of Oatlands next to Celtic Park there is / was the Eastern Necropolis and further east on the south-side of London Road lies the Cemetery of St. Peter's.

just checking the map again and a few miles south-east is Rutherglen Cemetery, not part of Glasgow.
Norfolk, Nelsons of Gt Ryburgh, Gooch, Howman, COLLISONS,  Ainger, Couzens, Batrick (Norfolk & Dorset), Tubby ( also of Yorkshire) Cathcarts of Ireland, Lancashire & Isle of Wight) Dickinsons of Morecambe and Lancaster, Wilson of Poulton-le-Sands and Broughton.  Wilson - Ffrance of Rawcliffe,  Mitchells of Isle of Wight. Hair of Ayrshire, Williamson of Tradeston, Glasgow. Nelsons in Australia with Haywards Heath connections.
