Well I made a right mix up, put The Diary, well my contribution , on a totally different board!
I have discomfubulated quite a number of people.

Ah well ,all part of life’s rich tapestry, as someone on the radio years ago used to say.Arthur——-.?
Had taught at Oundle School. —— Posh!

Got to bake tomorrow for the Jig Saw Festival.
A lemon  drizzle  tray bake.

Swollen finger starting to go down and not so itchy, which is as well as I am going to bake ,need to scrub hands anyway but better no cream on for sting.
I don’t put my hands in the mix but you handle stuff.
Late now so a bit earlier night and up early to bake before it gets too hot.
Hope all are well , look after yourselves folks .
Viktoria.

Here's the diary that you posted in the wrong thread Viktoria:

Another glorious day this morning .
Have done a quick shop ,posted Kyra’s dress and jigsaw.
Got some pills and cream for wasp sting that is soooooo itchy ,hand swollen
and I might need to lie down in a dark room!

Heard from a chap who I know from dog walking days ,said another chap has been rushed in to hospital ,he has a lovely little border collie, and was one of the daily walking group.I spoke with him only last week and he listed his many ailments ,which is his habit.
I offered to have the dog if he needed to go in to hospital ,she is lovely
Well now he is in hospital ,seemingly a neighbour has the dog temporarily .
Will just have to wait and see how well he recovers, and if he can continue to cope with the dog.

Gosh it is sooo hot , plants wilting etc.
The leak in the side lane is really bad again so once more all will be dug up next Thursday. The daft kids will move the barriers and risk sliding into a six  feet deep hole! They use the lane to get to school.
It is very obvious when the land around the burst is bone dry but then something like a spring bubbling up !

Well must get on ,with what I do not know,
Oooer ,only 5% power left so Cheerio.

Oh dear Viktoria I do hope your swollen finger improves soon… doesn’t sound good if your hand is swollen too..
What a kind thought to look after an old friends animal, hope he improves soon too.

Good luck with your Jigsaw Festival, sounds right up my street! I’ll bet your lemon drizzle will be much appreciated.

LM hope you enjoyed your trip out with your friend and the weather was favourable too…

Roobarb- good to see you on the diary thread if only briefly! Hope you’re getting back to normal and enjoying life more now.
Wonder if you’ve managed to get away on holiday this year?
Take care and hope everyone is surviving this last bit of summer!

Roobarb lovely to see your avatar on here again, l hope you are OK.

Only 2 days to go before big day, looks like it’s going to be a warm one, so much for picking September for the cooler weather.

Take care everyone

Thanks ladies, yes I'm okay. Went to Greece in June, thankfully returned before those dreadful fires. I'm off to Turkey soon, making up for almost four years when I didn't have a holiday.

Hope the wedding goes well Pinetree and a lovely warm day rather than a scorcher!

Many thanks, yes finger much improved, now it is not so swollen I can
bend it .Not nearly so itchy either.
I said at the Chemist’s  I was dying - we had a laugh that very old people were so stoical, polite and thankful  whilst often young  people were rude, impatient and  ungrateful , when you see hospital emergency programmes .

Made a big lemon traybake -for the Jigsaw festival -this morning early, and two coffee cakes this evening .
Might do some small trifles for Saturday.

Glorious weather, but seemingly a sandstorm in the night ,cars etc covered in dust and it was soooo dark in the night I expected a heavy rainstorm.

Nice to see Roobarb back for sure.
Glad, you had a good holiday !

Son bought Kyra the tiniest clogs ever!
Navy blue with red stitching , size 5— .
He is very generous to both ,Luca and Kyra, as he was with their Daddy and
Auntie , he acts daft and they love it.
Also a new number plate for my gate, Roman numerals !
There’s posh for  you!
Hope my Council Tax does not go up!
Or my post is not not in Latin!

Good job other son did Latin !
We told him it would come in useful one day!

Look after yourselves folks , thanks for the news and  Pinetree that the wedding is lovely and the start iof a long happy marriage .
,

Thankyou too Roobarb for putting my post on the right board, I could not manage it.

Morning  all
Viktoria, I don't  know how you cram so much into your day, you always sound so busy, pleased the finger has heeled up, my daughter on holidaying in Turkey is having  problems with wasps, 2 out of her 8 had wasp stings.

Enjoy the wedding Pinetree

I almost got scammed yesterday, message from a " cousin"  could I reply to him as  he wasn't at home and wanted to send a friend,   who  has cancer, stage 4, a voucher, wanted me to organise it, he also asked how we were, so I replied politely and I got another reply, then I twigged it was a scam, this person had also  emailed others in his family ,  how nasty to say there is a friend with stage 4 cancer and whose daughter had died, pulling  on peoples heart strings,  wasn't from my cousin at all, I did say to his mother if he knocked on my door to ask me to help him I would but I couldn't  understand why by email when he has parents and a wife, SO BEWARE,  everyone,,  by the way I wasn't going to organise this voucher anyway

Thanks L.M.
It is frightening isn’t it, just a moment off guard ( I have lots of them!) and you could have serious trouble.

Cooler, duller day here but   It was a nice fresh night so some sleep.
@#&£#@%-#!my coffee cake has touched the lid of the tin and a small circle of cake has stuck!
Well that is a blatant lie —— because I always put the cake on the lid and invert the tin on it ,so much easier to get a big cake out of a tin that way ,
BUT —— dire warnings in red on the name label.
“ Victoria’s tin. Do NOT turn this tin the right way up!”
I sellotape the lid to the tin .
So cake has stuck, just a bit to the bottom of the tin —— are you still with me?
I send my icing sugar dredger , so the little patch can be hidden.
Put  icing sugar on too soon and it goes claggy, from the moisture.

Will do trifles( but only if son can drive me ) for tomorrow .
Otherwise a mincemeat cake ( Christmas that is )
Good old Mary Berry.
I worry about my cakes but some of those yesterday I’d have chucked out for the birds, you know, all the fruit sunk to the bottom ,big dip in the middle.

Well must get on.
Cheerio, will let you know how much the event made after Sunday when all sorted and shared between the four churches .
Cheerio.
Viktoria .

Oh  boy, this heat, unbearable but no doubt  I will moan when it is cold or wet, makes me quite lethargic when I should be getting on with my housework.

How on earth my husband can go to the gym in this heat beats me but he does.

Keep cool those in the high temps

Happy day fir you Viktoria, hope you do well
