Marriage between Thomas Kingsland and Sarah Richardson

I think that marriage is that of his mother and father. His parents were also a Thomas and Sarah Kingsland.

I could only find that one and then his son's marriage to Lucy Fitness and then their son's marriage to Ann Carpenter Peckham.

Sarah says she was born Chailey Sussex, I don't see the parish records online

There is no Sarah Richardson Baptised at Chailey on SFHG data base

Perhaps then Sarah isn't Sarah Richardson then and I'm actually looking for a different Sarah?

I did wonder. However I wonder why there is no marriage for this Thomas? I guess its possible him and Sarah never married and just lived together as Common law husband/wife? I guess I need to check the baptisms of all the children rather than just Thomas and see whose name is on those.

Not a huge amount - its only the Kingsland branch of the family and Thomas' great x2 granddaughter moves to London following the death of her husband. The other 3 lines of that family are all London based.

So I've widened my search to looking for Sarah's born in Chailey in 1786/7 and have found 6 possible Sarah's.
Turner, Day, Pickett, Chatfield, Davey and Deacon seem to be the most likely candidates.

I'm now cross checking marriages of those Sarahs but so far nothing is proving fruitful. I cannot seem to find a marriage.

How likely would it have been that Thomas and Sarah didn't actually marry. With 9 children it seems unlikely that the vicars wouldn't have checked they were married surely?

I've messaged a lady who has SR married to TK in her tree and also has parents for Sarah to see where she got her information from. Although she has no evidence for a marriage either.
