I'm unsure of the information on a Western Australia certificate but maybe Sidney's cert. might list the kids names etc. Might indicate a married surname for Faye?? or the very least list her as alive or deceased.

Could also check if Sidney had a will.

A West Australian death certificate at this time should show number of children and their names (provided that information was known by the informant).

There are cut off dates with the online newspapers.

If you contact the Western Australia state library they may be able to help with a funeral or death notice if there was one. State libraries are pretty good to work with.
